Role:
Engineering Team Lead – Technical Direction, Systems Architecture, Unity Development
Tools:
Unity3D, C#, Firebase, GCP, LLM (OpenAI), Addressables, Custom Render Pipelines, GitHub Actions
Summary:
Aquifer Studio is a Unity-based application that empowers creators to animate 3D characters using modular assets and intuitive interfaces. As the engineering lead at Aquifer Motion, I guided the platform from prototype to production, designing key systems such as asset management, real-time rendering optimization, animation tooling, and application auto-updating.
A major focus of the platform was creator usability — I helped implement a generative asset recommendation engine powered by a large language model, and oversaw cross-platform support for our mobile viewer. I collaborated closely with art and content teams to support a sustainable pipeline for character rigging, emotes, and poses.
Why It Matters:
Aquifer Studio brings high-quality, real-time animation capabilities to non-technical creators through intuitive tools and optimized systems. The project blends creative flexibility with technical depth — from real-time rendering performance to modular asset workflows and machine learning-driven recommendations. It demonstrates how well-architected systems can empower expressive storytelling and lower the barrier to entry for digital animation.
